For most people, writing is an agonizing task, but for me it's a liberating journey. It's my mimosa, my Beethoven symphony 9, my vacation to Barcelona, Spain, my freedom of speech. Writing is my voice when I have nothing else to say.

I specialize in writing . Actually I don't. Writing is my purpose and God-given gift that has awakened passions in me that I didn't know existed. Whether it's creative writing, narratives, blogs, essays, research papers, or articles, I'll always relish the opportunities given to write.

I believe that there is power in writing that has the ability to positively transform every reader. It is my hope that because of our shared interests, you'll elect me to create astonishing writing pieces for you.

Thank you for taking the time to look through my portfolio. Certain pieces are available upon request such as creative writing, poetry, essays, and plays. If you want to connect, collaborate, or hire me, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Aspiring Life Transformer

Attending a performing arts school launched me into discovering my purpose - writing. Auditioning for creative writing in high school was one of the most stressful days of my life, but I was shockingly accepted into the program.

As the academic year went by, I realized that I had an inspiring way with words. Metaphors, analogies, and imagery became my best friends. I fell in love with poetry, along with expository and descriptive writing. I formed an inseparable relationship with the English language and I've been writing ever since.

Now, I'm an upper class student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City majoring in Mass Communications-Journalism Emphasis. I have 5+ years of writing experience, which includes two years of newspaper writing, two years of blogging, and one year of freelance.

From winning Hallmark Awards to having some of the most viewed articles on the school newspaper, I understand that writing is my purpose. I'm enthused to continue my freelancing journey and creating remarkable writing experiences. All I need is a foundation and I'll build on-top of it, or I can start from scratch. You choose.

Sometimes us Queens do everything in our power to grow our hair. Bizzare eating regimens, weird Youtube tutorials and products that never work but cost so much money. So what's the proper way to maintain your crown? What's every girl’s dream? It's not to have a husband as handsome as Idris Elba or Brad Pitt. With racially charged protests erupting, it looks as if another Civil Rights Moment might define the 21st century. UMKC professors Rebecca Davis and Sandra Enriquez hosted an Oct. 25 conference to dispel the misconceptions of activism and compare the Civil Rights Movement to protests today. The 1960s became known as the prime time of activism and protests. In 1968, Latino students in the Los Angeles and Chicago areas walked out of schools to protest unequal school conditions. They wanted better

Men dig in their heels to prevent sexual assault - University News

Men in heels took over the UMKC campus on Thursday evening to fight for an important cause: prevention of sexual assault and gender-based violence. Sexual assault towards women continues to be an ever-prevalent issue, but the statistics for sexual violence on campus prove even more shocking. According to the Rape, Abuse, and Incest Nation Network (RAINN), women on campus ages 18-24 are three times more likely to be sexually assaulted than the average woman in that same age range. That is why t

Start with love, not guns - University News

Studies have shown there’s been 1,624 mass shootings in the past five years in the U.S. alone. The most recent one in Parkland, Florida, has awakened a desire for a change of gun laws. But what if the change we need is really within ourselves? Studies show mental illness is the main reason behind mass shootings, but what about bullying? Let’s take this one word and transform it into what it really means: hate. Experiences of hate drives some individuals to become mass murderers. Therefore, th

Eating healthy on a budget: Say goodbye to Ramen Noodles

“Health complications changed my life,” said Jake Loeffler, a doctoral intern at the Counseling Services Center on campus. After explaining his battle with constant sinus infections and acid reflux syndrome, Loeffler decided to change his unhealthy eating habits. The UMKC Mindbody Connection Center held a workshop Wednesday on how students can eat healthier despite budget constraints. Loeffler hosted the event, offering students three helpful tips to accomplish what seems to be a nearly impossi
